ADF, CONTEMPORARY DANCE THEATER

On this project American Dance Festival (also known as ADF) was looking for a new contemporary dance theater located on 55th street in New York City. ADF wanted to incorporate the movement of dance into the design itself. The concept was to connect each space using flowing forms that continuously change, just like how dance is constantly changing.

Movement + Shape = Model

The shapes of the model connect together to create the building facade, then continue to flow into the inside of the building. This is an expression of moving forms coming together to creating space, just like in dance.
